I am getting excited as next week will be my mini trip to Asheville, North Carolina. I of course plan to visit the Biltmore House and Gardens as well as the Chihuly Exhibit, but I also have plans to visit other places in Asheville as well and I am looking forward to sharing my trip the following week afterwards here on the blog.
This past week I have also had to make a few trips into the office which I liked. As of right now I am 100% remote and work from home, but I did go into the office for three days to work with an intern for the company and I appreciate how this deviation in my week really broke the workweek out of its usual monotony. It’s always nice to break out of the everyday habits occasionally as this helps reinvigorate our daily lives in a fun way.
Since I will be doing a road trip to Asheville this upcoming week I will most likely stay home and relax and work on some more posts for the upcoming week while I am out. They will be posted here on the blog for Monday, Wednesday and Friday like normal. Have a great weekend ahead and enjoy this week’s Curated Weekly below.
Books, Shopping, Media, Etc.
I am admittedly a coffee cup girl, and it takes all of my willpower sometimes to not buy every pretty cup I come across. However, I still to like to find pretty cups and share them with you and this Loren Mug from Anthropologie was one that I had to enforce my willpower to not buy.
I also saw this Flower Stand Embroidered Dish Towel as well at Anthropologie that was very cute. I am always checking out towels for my teatimes and this one would make a great addition to have.
Most of my wardrobe consists of neutrals, but I do like to add color as well and I am usually drawn to blues and greens, so this Cashmere Blend Elbow Sleeve Henley Sweater from White House Black Market caught my interest, and it may be on its way to my wardrobe very soon.
And speaking of green tops that caught my eye, this Wide-Ribbed Shell from Banana Republic Factory was another top that looks great for the summer months. I always apprecitate their elegant, chic pieces that they offer each season.
Nothing says elegant summer more than dining al fresco and I loved looking through Aerin Lauder’s AERIN Gardin Bouquet Collection for beautiful ideas and inspiration.
A charcuterie board is a good idea no matter what time of year, but summer is such a fun season to create cheese boards. If you are looking for some quality cheese knives, then WIlliams-Sonoma has this set on clearance for a great price of $15.99 right now.
A good, structured tote is always worth having around whether you are going to the pool, beach, farmer’s market, outdoor movie, picnic, etc. This Cotton-Blend Tote Bag from H&M caught my eye as I really like its simple chic design and size. They also have this design in a small crossbody bag as well.
As a girl who is always trying to take good care of her skin, I found this book The Science of Beauty: Debunk the Myths and Discover What Goes into Your Beauty Routine which looks like a good informative read. Being released on June 25, it is described as, can tweakments do me any harm? Does deodorant cause breast cancer? Does eating chocolate give you acne? Do I need to wear sunscreen every day? What exactly is in my serum? Are collagen supplements the fountain of youth? What’s the best way to fade scars? And is “clean beauty” as healthy as it sounds? The Science of Beauty reveals the truth behind the bold marketing claims and viral TikTok trends and tells you what you really need to know about the products you use every day, form good habits, and learn what really works. Decipher the ingredients that make up your favorite shampoo, find out the facts about tweakments and chemical peels, and discover whether beauty brands can ever be truly sustainable.

If you’re interested in an American era of where there was a glitzy, stylish time where women wore ultra chic everyday outfits and also the history of the women who led this fashionable train, then When Women Ran Fifth Avenue: Glamour and Power at the Dawn of American Fashion will be worth reading. Making a spot on my own to-be-read list, it’s described as, in When Women Ran Fifth Avenue, journalist Julie Satow draws back the curtain on three visionaries who took great risks, forging new paths for the women who followed in their footsteps. This stylish account, rich with personal drama and trade secrets, captures the department store in all its glitz, decadence, and fun, and showcases the women who made that beautifully curated world go-round.
The queen of summer reads herself; Elin Hilderbrand released her newest and from what I understand, maybe her last novel for this summer of Swan Song. The covers for Elin’s books will always be iconic with their cerulean blues and dreamy beach scenes. This book has all of the summer fun one comes to expect of Hilderbrand, and this novel is described as, Chief of Police Ed Kapenash is about to retire. Blond Sharon is going through a divorce. But when a 22-million-dollar summer home is purchased by the mysterious Richardsons—how did they make their money, exactly? Ed, Sharon, and everyone in the community are swept up in high drama. The Richardsons throw lavish parties, flirt with multiple locals, flaunt their wealth with not one but two yachts, and raise impossible hopes of everyone they meet. When their house burns to the ground and their most essential employee goes missing, the entire island is up in arms.
Being released on July 19th is a new biopic, Widow Clicquot of the famed Virve Clicquot Champagne brand. Steering the company through dizzying political and financial reversals, she defies her critics and revolutionizes the champagne industry to become one of the world’s first great businesswomen. I am very much looking forward to seeing this one once released.
