Who doesn’t love a good “what’s in my bag” content post? In my blog post yesterday, 10 Tips to Create a Workout Routine That You Will Enjoy, one of the tips I shared is to invest in what you need when it comes to setting up a workout routine. It can be so easy to get wrapped up in the social media frenzy of purchasing way more than we need for any given thing, but I wanted to keep my gym bag much like my overall life, simple, but effective. Everything that I keep in my gym bag serves a purpose and is used at some point while working out, or I keep on hand for “just in case” situations like nail clippers and a small hairbrush. Below are the items that I keep in my gym bag. I will keep this post short and to the point, but you can also visit the section below that where I have listed the recipe for my favorite blueberry smoothie.

blueberry smoothie recipe
After a good, intense workout of cardio and a sauna, I really like to have a cold and refreshing smoothie. This smoothie recipe is quick and easy, just make sure you have a good quality blender. The one I have I use is from Amazon for $20, you can find it here. I love this blender because it’s small, it’s easy to store and it also charges, so you don’t need to plug it in every time it’s in use, you can use it anywhere.
Blueberry Smoothie Recipe:
- -1/4 cup frozen blueberries
- -1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- -1 individual container of either sugar free or low sugar vanilla yogurt
- -1/2 cup of milk (you can add more if you find more liquid might be needed)
- -3-4 ice cubes
Simply add all the ingredients to the blender and let it blend. In the end you get a nice thick and creamy blueberry smoothie that is so delicious, refreshing, and filling.

I’m going to try that smoothie recipe. I tend to overcomplicate my smoothies and the flavors don’t always go well together. This one looks simple and delicious!

Definitely give it a try! I really do like to keep things in my life simple, but effective. I know social media would have us believing that we need to put in every healthy ingredient in our pantry into a smoothie, but for me it just needs to be filling and have that little boost of protein. The final product does taste delicious and it’s not too clumpy or chalky.

I’ll let you know after I try it. I agree, I fell into the add everything habit and would much rather simplify. Thanks for the instructions!
