Welcome to not only another week, but also the first Friday of October. You already know how much I adore autumn, but I especially adore October even more as this is the month where we start to feel the transition into another season as well as starting to move into the holiday seasons as well. There is something special about this month that brings with it it’s vibrant colors of the leaves changing, the temperatures beginning to cool off so much so that you may need a coat and scarf, baking and comfort food is in full swing and for me personally, the return of one of my favorite shows on Netflix, The Great British Baking Show. As we settle into a new month, lets peruse some ideas to elevate the everyday.
SHOPPING, BOOKS, MEDIA, ETC.
While in New York this past weekend I sat near a very elegant woman who was wearing a delicate layered necklace with her outfit, and it looked simply chic. It inspired me to look for a similar necklace, and I found this crystal insert double wrap necklace at Ann Taylor that I will be purchasing during the Columbus Day sale coming up in a couple of weeks.
While in New York we stopped into a Banana Republic store while they were still having their 40% off sale and I picked up these touch of cashmere socks. Perfect for the colder weather ahead, they are more like a touch of luxury on my feet. I really loved how soft they felt and thus far I have worn them every day since I’ve brought them home.
October is for sure cardigan season, and I wanted to get one that looked elegant to wear to work or when going out this season. While I do love an oversized cardigan and have a few at home to cozy into, I purchased this ribbed merino cardigan in heather gray from Banana Republic as well during their sale for the purpose of having an elevated piece for the season.
If you’re a fan of William Morris like I am, then be sure to look into WIlliams-Sonoma x Morris & Co. collaboration. There are so many items and styles and honestly, I would like to buy one of each. But, since I can’t, I can still peruse and admire and possibly purchase one thing like these set of Seasons by May Napkins.
While we were in New York at the Morgan Library & Museum, we did an afternoon tea, and I ordered the Paris Assam tea for my selection. I absolutely adored this tea so much that I ordered some from Amazon before leaving NYC. The brand of tea that the museum uses is called Harney & Sons. While I didn’t find one specifically called Paris Assam, I did find one that was simply called Paris Tea. After having a cup when it arrived, I knew I found the very one I fell in love with in NY. Described as a fruity black tea with vanilla and caramel flavors, and a hint of lemony Bergamot. I am looking forward to enjoying many Paris teas in my future.
If you’re looking for an elegant bag for the season without spending hundreds of dollars, then this beautiful turn-lock lady bag from Anthropologie would a be a great choice. At only $88.00 it’s at a great price point and comes in three different colors.
Also spotted at Anthropologie were these stylish Reality Del Corso Chunky Oval Sunglasses. Such a fun style to wear and also a great accessory to invest in at only $59.00. I think I was also especially drawn in with how they styled it with the scarf tied around the face as well.
Already on my list to pick up and read this month is,
Another new release on my radar is, Tell My Everything by Elizabeth Strout. Taking place in Maine during autumn (which makes it the perfect time to read it) and is being described as poignant, thoughtful, and endearing. Readers praise the writing quality as well-written, readable, and carefully chosen. They also say the book is worth the wait and the characters are beautifully human.
With comfort food season now upon us, I am looking into Half Baked Harvest Quick & Cozy cookbook to add to the rotation. I already have a few Half-Baked Harvest cookbooks and really enjoy their recipes, so this one is no doubt just as great, but is also adding a dash of cozy that is perfect for the season.
And if you are a seasonal reader like I am, then look into Autumn: A Novel by Ali Smith. It was released back in 2017, but still provides all of the beautiful autumn settings that we long for. The narrative quality is thoughtful and poignant. It is a beautiful read if you are looking for a more poignant story to enjoy this season.
This looks like it’s going to be a beautiful film to watch coming up. Angelina Jolie plays Maria Callas, in where they reimagine the legendary diva in her final days as she reckons with her identity and life. Maria will be in select theaters in November and on Netflix December 11 in the US.
If you are wanting to spend the day with a Parisian “It” girl, then watch this video as Loïc Prigent follows Jeanne Damas, the creator of ROUJE, through her frenetic daily routine in Paris.
And another Francophile video find! You already know I love apartment/home tours, so why not see inside Valérie Leberichel’s Apartment, Global VP communications at Givenchy.

I know we just got back from a trip to NYC, but next weekend we’ll be taking another longer trip to Charleston, SC and I am looking forward to staying at the beautiful Hotel Bennet as well as visiting La Patisserie located inside the hotel. I want to try something new at the Patisserie, but surely, I will not have more than just one delicate pastry while visiting!
what i pinned this past week on pinterest
As we enter into October, my favorite month of the year, I can see that I am really looking forward to the colorful leaves, hot teas and cozy chic outfits. I also see some home decor pins which I like to use for inspiration since I enjoy redecorating and reorganizing our apartment so much. And even now, there’s still a few Christmas pins also popping up on my Pinterest too.
