As the last week of October has made its way to our doorstep, so does too the gentle rhythms of life. This past Sunday was perhaps one of the coolest days we have had so far this autumn and the clouds were heavy in the sky, but no rain in sight. I decided to bundle up in a sweater and cashmere wrap and take a walk around my neighborhood to enjoy the foliage and visit my favorite shops. As I was walking and the breeze would gently shake the colorful leaves around me, I stopped to appreciate a beautiful moment that would be gone all too soon. It’s moments like this when I truly savor the gentle rhythms of life, especially my everyday life.
Creating new routines can be hard when there is a change such as moving, a new job, a new relationship, etc, but after the stage of settling in has finished all that is left is that gentle rhythm as we go about our days. I do my best to make these rhythms intentional and ones that can be enjoyed throughout my day. Creating a life that is fulfilling and contented takes time as well as trial and error, but in the end is a worthwhile pursuit to create a life where one can savor those gentle rhythms of things to come.
For this Monday’s post I wanted to share the gentle rhythms in my life that I have been savoring (in no particular order).
-The sunrise in the morning before work
-A coffee and light jazz to start my workday
-Lighting a new seasonal candle
-Starting a new anticipated book
-Watching the leaves change colors and fall in autumn
-Cooking a delicious meal at the end of the day while listening to my Cooking Playlist
-Watching episodes of The Great British Baking Show on repeat
-The sound of my heels as I walk across the floor
-My small fireplace lit up at night
-Buying autumn inspired bouquets of flowers
-Nighttime falling sooner each night
-Teatime in the evenings
-Sleeping in on the weekends
-Drinking coffee leisurely in bed on the weekends
-Listening to my autumn playlist while taking walks to see the colorful trees
-Cozying into my coat and scarf to go to work
-Dreaming of Christmas and putting up my Christmas tree soon
-Baking croissants on Sunday mornings
-Visiting bookstores and enjoying fall reading lists
-My daily commute and enjoying new podcast episodes
-The cooler weather and crisp morning air
-The view from my new dining nook that I also work from as well
These few things are such simple pleasures that I savor and all of them create a life that I love waking up to each day. What are some of the gentle rhythms in your life that you are savoring recently?

Lovely post! I just got back from a busy and fun two week trip to Spain with my husband to visit our daughter who is studying abroad there and to celebrate our 25th anniversary.
I am looking forward to getting back into my normal routine as traveling definitely disrupts that. Doing my mobility/yoga stretches while listening to light classical music first thing when I get out of bed. Then listening to Bill Withers “Lovely Day” while I make the bed. Making myself a protein rich breakfast before I take the dog for a walk while listening to a podcast. Checking out my schedule for the week. As we get into colder and more hibernation-friendly weather, I am going to be more aware of not over scheduling myself with social events. I tend to do a lot of socializing in the summer because the weather is perfect and I have all sorts of energy. I find a need to slow down in that department as the weather gets colder and the sunny days get rarer. Overall, I love the rituals that let you observe how lovely simple, everyday life can be when you chose to focus on the details of it!

I loved this so much 🩷 thank you for sharing as all these moments sound so lovely. I’m like you too in that I tend to go into a cozy hibernation mode in the winter months and really enjoy more time at home.
