For many years I knew that I wanted to be a woman who would regularly visit the spa for a facial or other rejuvenating services. I wanted to be a woman who was taking exquisite care of her body and who would use the spa as a part of her overall skincare routine. I started to incorporate the routine of regular facials into my life a few years back and have found that visiting the spa have more benefits than just the overall maintenance of skincare. I first started doing facials in places that were not spas, but instead they were places that did only things like facials and massages with no particular extras provided, but when I visited my first real spa, I knew from then on that this would be my standard practice of getting a facial. Below are the five benefits I have experienced of visiting a spa.
-a luxurious solo date
I love taking myself on solo dates and a trip to the spa is the pinnacle of a solo date. You get to take this time to get pampered by someone else as well as time to relax in a beautiful setting. While there are many types of solo dates that we can take ourselves on, this one is catered specifically to the individual in choosing the type of spa service that they want and being able to take their time and to focus on their relaxation and wellbeing.
-to maintain your overall skin health
While a spa has many services that one can choose from, I particularly like to do the facials. For me a facial is like when one visits the dentist for a deep cleaning. While we may be brushing at home every night, it’s good for the overall health of our teeth to get a deep cleaning semi-annually. A quarterly facial for me is part of my skin’s overall health. It’s a chance to get a deep cleaning and exfoliation from a trained aesthetician who uses quality products on my face. Afterwards my face is glowing, smooth and ready for the next quarter ahead.
-complete relaxation in a calm environment
We already know that the world outside is fast-paced and quite a frenetic place to be in. Visiting a spa can give you a chance to really slow down and relax in a calming environment. When you are at a spa you will change into a fluffy robe and slippers and then proceed to a pre-treatment relaxation area where the lights are low, there’s spa music playing in the background and there is a selection of beverages and small snacks available. Every spa has these amenities for relaxing before and after your treatment. You get to take your time and leisurely relax without feeling rushed. It’s one of the few places that we can visit where calm, and relaxing is the only thing on the agenda.
-to be in luxurious surroundings
A spa by its very nature is a completely luxurious experience to be sure, but part of what makes a spa luxurious are the luxurious surroundings. Everything from the lighting, soft robes, decorative details, lounges, tables, lobby and even the spa service rooms are decorated in a way that evokes a sense of serene luxury. What makes this point in particular a benefit of visiting a spa is because when you are surrounded by things that are beautiful and luxurious, you start to create for yourself a self-image of a woman who has high standards for herself as well as being inspired to bring this type of luxury with you back into your own life. You want to recreate that feeling of being surrounding by luxury and, and so you start to find ways to do that in your everyday life.
-to reinforce a self-image of a woman who takes exquisite care of her body
And speaking of self-image, one of the most important benefits of visiting a spa is create a self-image for yourself of a woman who takes exquisite care of her body. When we invest in something we have a higher propensity in caring for it, and our bodies should be part of that investment. One thing is for certain, while many things in our life will come and go such as fashion trends, acquaintances, jobs, homes and even our lifestyles…one thing that will always be with us is our body. That’s why it is so important to take care of it in the best way that we can and visiting a spa can be a part of that routine. When we start investing in things like quality food, workouts, a skincare routine and spa time, it starts to become naturally a part of who we are and what we do. It provides evidence to us that we are a woman who takes exquisite care of her body and that only the highest standards will do for the investment.
