It’s the last day of February and we now find ourselves on the doorstep to spring here in the northern hemisphere. The days are already longer but in just two more weeks we (here in the U.S.) we’ll be setting our clocks to spring forward one more hour. I am looking forward to the warmer days, the farmer’s markets, picnics, reading outside, gardens and so much more. March holds a special place in my heart because it’s not only the start of the spring season, but also my birthday month and I already have so many things to looks forward to including Art in Bloom at the North Carolina Museum of Art and of course my trip to Paris at the end of the month.
As we start to settle into the new season and get to experience the beautiful wonder of the flowers blooming yet again, let us first start the weekend with a curated weekly post and I will sprinkle in some spring goodies along the way including this cute mug below.
SHOPPING, BOOKS, MEDIA, ETC.
I am currently looking for a new small cross body bag to use for travel as my previous one is starting to show some signs of wear (I’ve had it for several years), and this embossed leather crossbody bag from Banana Republic is not only a perfect size, but such a great color too that would pair well with any outfit.
A good striped shirt is always a good closet staple and this classic mariner boatneck shirt from J. Crew is not only such a cute color for spring but is also currently on sale too for only $24.50.
While visiting Anthropologie this past weekend I looked through their spring collection and this Lexington Stoneware Goose Mug caught my attention and so I brought it home with me. They also have a mug with a bunny on it too.
One of my favorite simple pleasures in life is cozying up at home and putting together a jigsaw puzzle and I especially love seasonal puzzles. The Spring Street 1000-piece puzzle looks like a lot of fun to put together and I love how pretty it is with all its flowers throughout.
A pair of loafers is always an elegant choice for a pair of shoes when out and about and if you are looking for a pair on a budget then look into these loafer flats from Target for only $19.99 which looks like the M. Gemi Gia flats, but for much less. They come in both black and white and are a perfect shoe for running errands or grocery shopping.
You already know that I think proper sleep attire is one of life’s simple pleasures as well as being more elegant and I recently purchased this women’s cloud notch collar long sleeve night gown from Target in this green color and it is actually as soft as it looks in the picture. It’s a jersey material so it’s very light and breathes well at night and at only $25, it’s also budget friendly too.
If you remember a few months back there was a release of the collectible baguette stamp and if you are a collector of stamps, French items or scrapbooking then good news! You can purchase your own set at French Wink for only $8.00. A fun collectible for any Francophile to enjoy!
Comin up in less than three weeks on March 18th is the fourth book in the Dream Harbor Series is The Strawberry Patch Pancake House. I am a fan of Laurie Gilmore’s cozy romance books, and I am very much looking forward to reading this one soon. The Strawberry Patch Pancake House is a cozy romantic mystery with a single dad and found family dynamic, in a small-town setting and a happily ever after guaranteed.
A new cookbook which looks like its name already suggests,
And a new novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author, whose books so many loves, brings us a fresh, contemporary story of a woman and her unruly blended family. Jojo Moyes’ new novel, We All Live Here looks to be a warm and witty read perfect for cozying up to this spring.
If you are a fan of Little Women, then this new release, The Other Match Sisters will most likely make your TBR list this season. Giving all the “Little Women” the stories they deserve at last, this imaginative historical novel and companion to the much-loved classic draws Meg, Beth, and Amy March from behind the shadow of Jo – Louisa May Alcott’s alter-ego and the “author” of Little Women – as vibrant and unforgettable characters grappling with societal strictures, love, motherhood, chronic illness, artistic ambition, and more.
A new Netflix movie coming out on March 28th is on my to be watched list for next month. The Life List looks to be a fun and heart felt movie as a young woman embarks on a journey of self-discovery, working through a list of goals she wrote as a teenager, at the request of her late mother. As she navigates the messy process of her second coming-of-age, she confronts her grief while finding the courage to live fully again.
Between being a slow living enthusiast and a Francophile, this video caught my attention immediately and there was so much good inspiration to watch.
I always love watching small house tours where they are able to infuse so much good style in such a small space.
